Abstract

This course combines the basic concepts of qualitative data analysis with the essential features of NVivo. This is the course you need if you are new to qualitative analysis and want to use NVivo from a methodological standpoint.
The course is structured into 4 sessions where you will learn from basic concepts of qualitative research and qualitative data analysis methodologies to essential functions in NVivo which you may need for analysis qualitative dataset such as literatures, interview data, survey data etc. You will also be informed with strategies for team work and some new features that NVivo provided for simultaneous multi-user access. The course blends lectures with hands-on exercises in which the concepts seen in class are put into practice.
This course is entirely hands-on. Participants will work with sample data to learn NVivo’s functionalities and try out the tools you’ve seen in the class with specific exercises in the practical sessions under guides. In the end of this training, you will be guided to do a real qualitative data analysis by coding interview manuscripts. Time is also allocated to discuss more on details of your own qualitative research project.

Prerequisites

No previous knowledge of NVivo is required.
